About Illustrator:
Adobe Illustrator is a program that uses vectors to create the images. Using vectors instead of pixels allows for better images and designs. Illustrator is used to create logos, vinyl images, or laser engraving. Illustrator allows you to enlarge or shrink an image without distorting the image. You can add measurements to the size of the work space, so you have a realistic area to design with. Illustrator uses black and white photos because the machines that are used with Illustrator are cutting machines, so they cant cut and create a color. The laser engraving machine recognizes red to cut through the object and black to engrave the object. The vinyl recognizes colors to cut through the vinyl sheet and cut out the image wanted. The vinyl sheet color is what is changed to change the color of the vinyl.

Steps for applying vinyl:
Step 1: Print out file on the vinyl machine.
Step 2: Cut out what you will be applying.
Step 3: Remove parts of the vinyl you will not be applying from the back.
Step 4: Put application tape on vinyl and use squeegee to make sure the vinyl sticks to it.
Step 5: Remove backing of vinyl, so you are left with the vinyl sticking to the application tape. Stick vinyl and application tape where you want to apply it and squeegee to make sure the vinyl sticks to it.

Final key-chain project:
What I learned:
Using Illustrator we were able to create vinyls and key chains. The cuts and engraves were extremely sharp and precise, due to the vector files used in Adobe Illustrator. Illustrator allows you to make the design to scale, so you can see how big it will be compared to your work space. Using Illustrator takes patience and there are many tools that can be used to make your design "perfect." Illustrator can be used for multiple things like; logos, vinyls, and laser engravers.
